Authorities in southern China say 10 people were killed and dozens injured when a bus overturned on a highway.

Eleven people died, including eight children, in a school bus crash in China's southern Hunan province, state media said on Friday, the latest in a string of traffic accidents that have fuelled public anger over unsafe transport for school children.

A bus went out of control and slipped from a snow-covered bridge in southern China on Wednesday, killing at least 16 people, state media reported. About 50 people were aboard the bus when it crashed this afternoon, including 30 who were rescued, the Xinhua News Agency said. There were no immediate reports on injuries.
