The recent attacks on Sri Lankan pilgrims in Tamil Nadu and the shrill protest over training of its military personnel in India has deeply "hurt" and perhaps has even scarred India -Sri Lanka relations, which is now passing through a delicate phase, but Sri Lanka isn't yet considering chaining horses mid-stream.

Tamil shopkeepers have protested in Sri Lanka's capital to condemn an attack on Sri Lankan pilgrims this week in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Some 184 Sri Lankan pilgrims were mobbed Monday in Tamil Nadu and had to seek refuge in the church they were visiting.

Five buses carrying Sri Lankan pilgrims to Trichy airport in Tamil Nadu have reportedly been been attacked.The pilgrims were on their way back home after Sri Lanka advised its citizens not to travel to Tamil Nadu until further notice. All 184 pilgrims are now on a special flight back to Sri Lanka.

Buses in Tamil Nadu were attacked this afternoon because they had on board pilgrims from Sri Lanka. The convoy of five buses was headed to the Trichy airport to board a special flight home.
