Stampede At Rajghat Bridge

Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Saturday assured all support to Uttar Pradesh government after 24 people were killed and 50 injured in a stampede at Rajghat bridge on the border of Varanasi and Chandauli when followers of a religious leader were crossing it this afternoon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief over the deaths in the Varanasi stampede and said the local administration had been asked to ensure all possible help to those affected.

At least 24 people were killed and many were injured in a stampede at a religious gathering on the outskirts of Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on Saturday. The stampede broke out when thousands of devotees of a religious leader tried to cross a bridge at once.
