Student Stages Kidnap

Hundreds of women here on Sunday staged a peaceful protest against the kidnapping of the over 200 students from a school in Nigeria by extremist Islamic militant group Boko Haram.

A first-year student of Delhi University's Dyal Singh College allegedly tried to stage his own kidnapping after he came to know that due to his short attendance, he will not be able to appear for the exams. His parents even lodged a missing complaint, only to be told of their son's vagabond ways.

A student of Class X was arrested in Ghaziabad for allegedly staging his own kidnapping, with the help of two friends, in order to extort Rs 20 lakh from his father as "ransom".
