Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday filed a chargesheet against seven people, including three government officials, for allegedly misappropriating subsidised food grains which led to a loss of over Rs 27 lakh to the exchequer, an official said.

Continuing its Dalit outreach, the central government has decided to expand a scheme to provide subsidised food grains to students belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes (OBC) living in government-run Ambedkar hostels across the country.

The Telangana Civil Supplies Department will implement 'Ration from Anywhere' from tomorrow, allowing some 2.75 crore beneficiaries in the state to pick up government subsidised grains from any of the state's 17,000 ration shops under the public distribution system (PDS).

Two owners of government-funded ration shops were arrested by the police in Gujarat's Surat for allegedly pilfering subsidised foodgrain by using hacked software and unauthorised biometric Aadhaar data of beneficiaries.
