Anna Hazare celebrates 75th birthday with HIV+ kids

Social activist Anna Hazare on Friday celebrated his 75th birthday with hundreds of children at a rehabilitation centre in Ahmednagar, around 40 km from his hometown Ralegan Siddhi. Mr Hazare's associates said he preferred not to have elaborate celebrations for his birthday as Maharashtra is currently reeling under drought.

Despite Intelligence Bureau inputs on a possible terror threat to anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, there remain serious issues with his security. It seems Mr Hazare's close aides took the decision to shift him overnight to Sancheti Hospital in the city on December 31 without even caring to inform the police.

Social activist Anna Hazare has been advised to take two days of 'complete rest' on health grounds, his close aide said today. "The doctor attending on Hazare has advised him two days of complete rest on medical grounds," Hazare's close aide Suresh Pathare said.
