Suspects In Kuwait Attack

Kuwait's lower court Tuesday bailed four suspected members of a 26-member cell accused of plotting attacks on the Gulf state in collaboration with Iran and the Shiite group Hezbollah.

A Kuwaiti court trying 29 suspects in a deadly bomb attack on a Shiite mosque freed 11 defendants Thursday, while the main accused said he had been told worshippers would not be harmed.

Kuwait's interior ministry today referred five suspects linked to the suicide bombing of a Shiite mosque to the prosecution service for legal action, a security official said.

Kuwait's interior ministry has said it had detained amongst others the owner of a vehicle which a suicide bomber used to get to a Shi'ite Muslim mosque where he blew himself up, killing 27 and wounding 200 people mid-prayer.
