As one of the largest micro-credit urban programmes worldwide, PM SVANidhi has been an effective vector of ensuring societal harmonisation among unformalised segments of urban micro-entrepreneurs from fringe strata, a report said.

The Centre has disbursed 27.06 lakh loans amounting to Rs 2,714 crore under PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi Scheme) so far.

According to RBI data, a total of 2,45,942 physical devices had been installed in tier-3 to tier-6 centres as well as in north-eastern states

PIDF is a RBI scheme which is aimed at encouraging setting up of Point of Sale infrastructure in tier-3 to tier-6 cities.

Between July and December 2020, out of 32 lakh applications received by banks for loans, private sector banks had got only 1.5 lakh applications.

While several state-owned banks have high interest rates for beneficiaries under SVANidhi scheme, many of them seek credit ratings of beneficiaries.
