Swachh Bharat One Year

Not a single toilet was constructed in the national capital since the inception of the Swachh Bharat Mission two-and-half years ago, with funds to the tune of Rs 40.31 crore for this purpose lying 'idle', the CAG said today.

Nearly 95 lakh toilets were set up in rural India in the last one year since the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Rural Development Minister Birender Singh said today.

It has been exactly one year since Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan - the ambitious drive to clean India of filth by 2019.
