Syrian Bomb Suspect In Germany

A Syrian man arrested on a suspicion that he had planned a jihadist bomb attack on a Berlin airport was found dead in his cell Wednesday after an apparent suicide, authorities said.

A Syrian man who came to Germany during a migrant influx last year was arrested today after a weekend manhunt on suspicion of planning a bomb attack, Saxony state police said.

German investigators found several hundred grams of "highly volatile" explosives in an apartment they raided today in the eastern city of Chemnitz as they sought a Syrian man suspected of planning a bombing attack. The suspect remained on the run but three contacts were detained and being questioned, police said.
