High Court dismisses petitions against recruitment of 185 civil judges

The Madras High Court today paved the way for recruitment of 185 civil judges for the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service (TNSJS), dismissing a batch of petitions challenging a state government notification issued last month in this connection.

The Tamil Nadu government informed the Madras High Court that it has not delegated the power to appoint 185 civil judges in the state to anyone and that it alone is vested with powers to appoint them.
