Tamil Nadu government teachers and employees on Wednesday called off their nine-day old indefinite strike and urged Chief Minister K Palaniswami to address their demands which includes reversion to the old pension scheme.

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has requested the 2 lakh government teachers on indefinite strike to return to classrooms as the protests are hampering the students' education.

Justice N Kirubakaran made the observations on a petition seeking a direction to the state government to form an expert committee to prepare students who scored low marks in NEET and provide them moral support.
