National carrier Air India made history today by becoming the first airline in the world to use a pilot-controlled semi-robotic aircraft tractor as alternate taxiing equipment on a commercial Airbus A320 flight

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a GMR Group-led consortium, said on Monday that it is ready for commercial operations of taxibots that will tow an aircraft from a terminal gate to the take-off point.

New Delhi, Aug 12 (PTI) Aviation watchdog DGCA has allowed the use of taxibots, semi-robotic vehicles to tow aircrafts whose engines will be shut, from the parking bay to the runway holding pointing to curb pollution at airports and save fuel.
