Doctor couple accused of locking up teen ready to pay Rs 75000 as compensation

The doctor-couple, accused of illegally confining and assaulting their domestic help, has said that they are willing to pay Rs 75000 as compensation to the teenager. The couple's remand in police custody has also been extended to three days now.

Delhi Police on Sunday initiated the process of issuing a lookout notice against a doctor couple, who allegedly left their minor maid locked up and starving in the house while they vacationed in Thailand, officials said.

Locked up for three days in a second-storey highrise in Dwarka's Sector 6 allegedly by a doctor-couple on a six-day vacation in Bangkok, the girl's cries from her balcony alerted the neighbours. They had the gumption to call the officials of Shakti Vahini, an NGO, to rescue her with the help of police and fire personnel.
