Not Paid, Locked, and Beaten; Factory Workers Rescued From Outskirts of Bengaluru

Over 100 bonded labourers who were rescued from an agarbatti (incense sticks) factory on the outskirts of Bengaluru last week, are on their way back home. The workers, from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, and Nepal had been locked up and guarded with dogs to prevent them from leaving.

Worker rescued 55 hours after Jalandhar factory collapse

A teenage boy was pulled out from the debris of the collapsed blanket factory on Wednesday, nearly 55 hours after the four-storey building had been flattened, police said. Many more people could still be trapped, officials said as rescue efforts continued for the third day.
