Telangana Rashtra Samithi Ally

Taking a swipe at Telengana's ruling BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi), its ally AIMIM and opposition Congress over dynasty politics, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has dubbed them "2G, 3G and 4G" parties.

The BJP sees Telangana's ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which supported the NDA in the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman election, as a potential ally post the general elections in 2019, a leader of its state unit hinted today.

As part of its effort to push through the land bill in Parliament in this session with the help of regional parties, the Narendra Modi government reached out to the Biju Janata Dal today, sources told NDTV. Efforts are also on to bring on board the Trinamool Congress, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and allies Akali Dal and the Shiv Sena, they said.
