A few employees of Cognizant recently approached the state Labour Department alleging that the IT company was forcibly taking resignations from employees citing poor performance.

Former Telecom Minister A Raja, who spent 15 months in jail, is ready to go public his version of one of India's biggest corruption scandals. The 53-year-old's account of the scam that forced his resignation has been been cleared by leaders of his party, the DMK, and is now being finalised by his publishers for release in November.

The minister's statement came a day after the opposition party demanded Prasad's resignation over the call drop issue.

Relief for Chidambaram: The Supreme Court has dismissed cases against P Chidambaram asking for him to be investigated by the CBI in the telecom scam. The verdict offers significant relief for the Finance Minister, whose resignation has been demanded by the main opposition party, the BJP, in what is described as India's biggest swindle.

In a three-page letter dated April 24 to the Prime Minister, Mr Swamy has said that Mr Chidambaram should be asked to resign as Home Minister and that the CBI should include him and his son, Karti, in its investigation on the sale of telecom Aircel to Malaysian-based Maxis.

A trial court in Delhi today allowed Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy to testify and present his case against Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G scam at its next hearing on December 17. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm as the Opposition demanded Mr Chidambaram's resignation for his alleged role in the telecom scam.

The telecom scam, which has struck at the heart of Indian politics, forcing the resignations of senior ministers and dumping others in jail, has delivered another forceful blow today. A note on the scam sent to the Prime Minister's Office in March exposes one of the bitterest rivalries within the UPA - that of Pranab Mukherjee and P Chidambaram.
