Mobile users may soon be able to stream videos without a SIM card or an internet connection as Direct-to-Mobile broadcasting could become a reality in the near future.

Consultancy Services on Monday said a consortium, led by the IT giant, received an advance purchase order valued over Rs. 15,000 crore from the state-run BSNL for the deployment of a fourth-generation mobile (4G) network across India.

Motorola has announced a partnership with Vi to offer 5G services in India on its compatible phones. The smartphone will offer 5G band support between 11 to 13 on its smartphones. The smartphone company already offers 5G network on its smartphones with Airtel 5G, starting late November 2022. However, Moto Razr 5G is not compatible with Airtel 5G.

Apple will reportedly roll out iOS 16.2 beta to testers next week, that will test 5G support on Airtel and Jio networks in India as a precursor to the eventual full-fledged launch of 5G support in December.

Apple has reportedly promised to add access to 5G services in their iPhone models soon. Randeep Sekhon, Chief Technology Officer of Airtel, reportedly said that Apple is conducting 5G tests in the country and Airtel has set up networks for them.
