Infosys Foundation Chairman Sudha Murty, music maestro Shankar Mahadevan, economist Sanjeev Sanyal and 16 others are part of a new committee constituted by the NCERT to revise textbooks according to the new curriculum, officials said.

Days after Yogendra Yadav and Suhas Palshikar wrote to the NCERT, asking their names to be dropped from textbooks, 33 academicians, part of the Textbook Development Committee, have written to the council too.

NCERT will place before its Textbook Development Committee a proposal to include tea as a chapter in its textbooks following a request by the North East Tea Association (NETA) in this regard.
