Director Jon Favreau revisits the story of man-cub Mowgli for Jungle Book 2. The Jungle Book released this month with actor Neel Sethi as Mowgli

The film has a human actor (Neel Sethi) front and center in the role of Mowgli, and Jon Favreau has said that viewers need that human connection to relate to his film's emotional palette. But it's the visual palette here that renders this film so particularly fascinating

"Since we are very similar, it was not difficult for me. But I had to grow my hair, and the team also gave me hair extensions. It wasn't that bad. It was pretty comfortable. It was a lot of fun. I just went along with the flow. My friends saw the trailer and they think it was cool but they still treat me like a normal person," said Neel Sethi

The Jungle Book makers hared a special photo-shoot of the voice cast with the animals they play on the film's official Facebook page. Actors Scarlett Johansson, Idris Alba, Lupita Nyong'o and Ben Kingsley also shared their interpretation of the character they play in the film along with the pictures

Child actor Neel Sethi stars as Mowgli who must escape the terrifying tiger Shere Khan while also dodging lesser but also deadly bullets such as the python Kaa's hypnotic coils and massive orangutan King Louie's giant paws. Mowgli's protectors, the black panther Bagheera and Baloo the bear, will need everything they've got to battle Shere Khan

"I know who you are and I know where you come from," Kaa whispers sibilantly to Mowgli, played by young actor Neel Sethi. The other voices - none heard here - are provided by Idris Elba for Shere Khan, Bill Murray for the bear Baloo, Ben Kingsley for Bagheera, Lupita Nyong'o for the wolf Raksha and Christopher Walken for King Louie.
