Tibet Immolations

The Chinese government is not "seriously" probing the cause of a spate of self-immolations by Tibetans across China, the Dalai Lama said on Monday, Japanese media reported.

A teenager died in the 70th case of immolation since January 2009 in Tibet as thousands of Tibetans protested here Sunday against Chinese rule.

Thirteen Tibetans were arrested on Sunday for picketing before the Chinese embassy in Delhi, police said. Seven women and six men were held after they shouted slogans against the "illegal Chinese occupation of Tibet", police said.
