Tigress Escapes

Footage of people heckling a bear in Maharashtra's Buldhana district emerged on social media today, close on the heels of another involving a tigress in Uttar Pradesh. While the big cat was clubbed to death by villagers, the bear was more fortunate. It managed to escape into the forest amid loud shrieks and hoots from onlookers.

An animal keeper was killed by two white tiger cubs at the Bannerghatta Biological Park on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The officials at the Capital's National Zoological Park had to face some tense moments on Monday morning after a white tigress escaped from her cage and jumped over a 12ft high fence of her enclosure.The tigress was later captured and put back into her cage.  Interestingly, Union environment minister Jairam Ramesh was supposed to visit the zoo...
