Diwali celebrations have started in the United States from the iconic Times Square in New York, with the US Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump celebrating the festival of lights at their residences on Friday.

Diwali is still more than a month away but Indians in New York got off to an early start to the festivities with day-long celebrations at Times Square showcasing Indian culture, cuisine and bringing together renowned artists from the Indian film industry.
