Tirumala Forest Fire

Air Force helicopters are flying over the thick forests near the Tirumala temple to examine reports of new flames. A massive fire that, according to early estimates, has destroyed 5000 hectares and was believed extinguished last night.

Tiruamal Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) EO Sri MG Gopal on Wednesday evening elaborated to media in his camp office in Tirumala on the fire-fighting measures taken up by TTD to arrest the forest fires which engulfed vast area in Seshachalam ranges.

A fire was blazing this evening in the thick forests near the famous Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh.

Hundreds of hectares of forest was destroyed when a major fire broke out in the dense forests nearby the Tirumala Hills , sources at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam said.
