A senior government officer in Tamil Nadu was seen toppling carts of vegetables and fruits, throwing away the produce of roadside vendors, in a video that is viral.

Clutching his chest in severe pain, a bus driver saved 30 passengers by steering the bus to the side of a busy road before collapsing and dying of a heart attack on the steering wheel near suburban Nerkundram in Tamil Nadu.

Inaugurating the 5999th branch of Punjab National Bank at nearby Tirupattur, he said orders had been issued to all nationalised banks in this regard and their CMDs had been asked to implement the same in the current financial year.

As many as 4,086 children were born in the district in the government hospitals between April and December this year. This included 1,061 caesarean deliveries. This was informed at meeting of the public health services chaired by the district collector S Nagarajan on Thursday here.
