Top Us Chemistry Award

Sweden's Tomas Lindahl, Paul Modrich of the US and Turkish-American Aziz Sancar today won the Nobel Chemistry Prize for work on how cells repair damaged DNA, the jury said.

Purnendu Dasgupta, a Jenkins Garrett professor of chemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington, has been awarded the 2015 American Chemical Society Division of Analytical Chemistry J Calvin Giddings Award for Excellence in Education.

India-born scientist Dr Thomas John Colacot has won the American Chemical Society's ACS Award in Industrial Chemistry, one of the top honours in the field.
