Tourists Injured In Goa

A tourist family has alleged that they were attacked with swords and knives in the Anjuna area of Goa at around 5 pm on March 5 this year, grievously injuring at least one person.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday stopped his convoy to provide assistance to a woman tourist who had met with an accident, by first examining her and then taking her to the nearest hospital in one of his escort vehicles.

Five tourists were injured, two of them severely, when they fell off a cliff while clicking selfies at Anjuna village in Panaji.

Seven people, six tourists from Rajasthan and a local resident, were injured in a scuffle on a petty issue at famous Calangute beach in Goa on Monday, police said. Calangute police station in-charge Nolasco Raposo said five locals have been arrested for assaulting the picnickers and damaging their bus.

Two US nationals and an Indian tourist were injured when the false ceiling of a five-star hotel came crashing down on them in South Goa, police said today. Work on the ceiling, made of plaster of Paris, was going on in the main lobby of the hotel yesterday when it fell over some tourists, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Naik said.

Three tourists including two Americans were injured after a false ceiling came crashing down upon them at a hotel in Cavelossim village near Panaji. The injuries were not serious and the three discharged after first aid.
