Traces Of Water On Mars

China's fully robotic rover on Mars has, for the first time, found traces of recent water activity on the Red Planet, indicating that Mars has a few areas where conditions are suitable for life to exist.

Scientists have utilised data collected over a decade by NASA and the ESA to generate a water map of the Red Planet. The high-resolution map reveals locations of aqueous minerals, whil providing hints at ancient traces of water on Mars. It could also help plan future mars missions

Mars' huge canyon system, Valles Marineris, may hold hidden water beneath the surface, according to a new study. The European Space Agency (ESA) and Roscosmos' collbaorative ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) discovered large volumes of water in the canyon's heart.

Up to now, it had been assumed that the trace amounts of oxygen on Mars were insufficient to sustain even microbial life.
