Tripura Re-polls

An estimated 72.32 per cent of the 1,41,251 voters exercised their franchise in the re-polling held in 168 polling stations of West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency on Sunday, an official said.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has declared "void", polls held at 168 polling stations in Tripura West parliamentary constituency on April 11 and has ordered re-polling on May 12.

Altogether 90.58 per cent votes were polled in six booths in as many Assembly constituencies of Tripura, where re-polling was held peacefully on Monday, state Chief Electoral Officer Sriram Taranikanti said.

Re-polling will be held in a polling station at Kakrabon-Salgarah constituency in Gomati district on Monday.
