With India and the US announcing resolution of their last trade dispute on poultry products at WTO, India has agreed to reduce tariffs on certain American products like frozen turkey, frozen duck, fresh blueberries and cranberries, the USTR said.

US President Donald Trump looked set to open a new front in his trade wars today with a plan to end preferential trade treatment for India that allows duty-free entry for $5.6 billion worth of the country's exports to the United States.

Turkey on Wednesday said it was hiking tariffs on imports of several key US products in retaliation for American sanctions against Ankara, as a bitter dispute between the two allies that sent the Turkish lira into freefall showed no sign of ending.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he had authorized higher tariffs on imports from Turkey, imposing a 20 percent duty on aluminum and 50 percent one on steel, as tensions mount between the two NATO allies over Ankara's detention of an evangelical pastor and other diplomatic issues.

The retaliatory tariffs imposed by the European Union, China, India, Turkey, and other countries on US exports are "completely without justification" under international norms, the Trump administration said today.
