Uber said Jamie Heywood would join as Uber's new regional general manager for northern and eastern Europe from Amazon next month.

Uber's Quebec general manager, Jean-Nicolas Guillemette, said the company would cease operations in the province on Oct. 14.

"While we haven't been asked to make any changes, we'd like to know what we can do," Tom Elvidge, Uber's general manager in London, told The Sunday Times.

Uber was bracing for more turmoil as a report prepared by former US attorney general Eric Holder was to be given to employees Tuesday.

The move follows a string of executive departures at Uber, including the company president, heads of finance and product, an East Coast general manager and several high-level engineers.

Holder and Tammy Albarran will look into the sexual harassment complaints about a manager at Uber.

The Delhi government had issued notices to Kalanick, Uber India president Amit Jain and general manager for North India operations Gagan Bhatiya for alleged violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.

"Disappointment does not begin to describe how we feel about shutting down operations in Austin," Uber's Austin general manager Chris Nakutis said in a statement.

Uber, the app-based taxi service, has 4000 drivers working for it in Delhi. But Uber's General Manager (Marketing) Gagan Bhatia has reportedly told the police that the company has no idea whether any of them have undergone police verification or have a mandatory PSV (Public Service Vehicle) badge.

Uber confirmed it is investigating whether one of its general managers violated its privacy policies.
