Udhampur Beef Protests

A shutdown is being observed in many areas of south Kashmir's Anantnag district for the second consecutive day today to protest against the death of Udhampur petrol bomb attack victim Zahid Rasool Bhat, even as life returned to normal elsewhere in the Valley.

Violence has started again in South Kashmir's Anantnag, where people protesting against the mob killing of a truck driver have clashed with the police. At least four protesters have been injured as police used pellet guns and tear gas shells to disperse the mob.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah along with other politicians condemned the ink attack on independent legislator, Engineer Rashid in New Delhi on Monday.
