• Shopkeeper Held for Stocking Free School textbooks in Tamil Nadu

  A shopkeeper was today arrested from Coonoor near in Udhgamandalam for stocking books meant for free distribution in government schools, while a search is on for the principal of a higher secondary school from where similar books were seized, police said.

  Braving a severe heart attack while at the wheel, a 52-year-old driver of a government bus managed to stop the vehicle on a ghat road in Udhgamandalam, saving the lives of 40 passengers, but died soon after his effort, police said.
