Un Convoy Attack

The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees said Friday an aid convoy came under fire by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip, without causing any casualties.

The World Health Organization said Tuesday that a patient had died in an emergency convoy on route to a Gaza City hospital, during repeated and lengthy Israeli checks.

Five Afghan security personnel were killed Thursday when a United Nations convoy they were escorting came under attack in Kabul province, the UN mission said, in the latest violence to rock the country.

Convoys of evacuees travelled from a rebel-held area of Aleppo and two Shi'ite villages besieged by insurgents on Monday, a war monitor and rebels said, as a deal enabling evacuations held after a tense, days-long stand-off and before a U.N. vote.

A "clearly marked" UN convoy was due to deliver aid today to besieged areas near the Syrian capital after a 48-hour suspension to review security guarantees following an attack on relief trucks near Aleppo, a UN spokesman said.
