The Greater Chennai Corporation has removed 460 hoardings in a crackdown on unauthorised and illegal hoardings following the tragic fall of a large hoarding in Mumbai that killed 14 people at a petrol station.

Madras High Court Directs Enhancing Fine On Unauthorised Hoardings

The Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to amend the Chennai City Municipal Act, 1919, in order to increase penalty on unauthorised hoardings from the exsisting Rs 10,000.
