In its biggest-ever crackdown on a large-scale illicit money pooling scheme estimated at nearly Rs 50,000 crore, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Friday ordered immediate closure of unauthorised collective investment schemes (CIS) run by PACL Ltd and refund of investors' money within three months.

Teen drowns in unauthorised swimming pool

A 17-year-old drowned in a swimming pool here, police said on Monday, adding that the owner of the swimming pool has been arrested. Raja, resident of west Delhi's Janta Enclave area, drowned in the pool around 2.30 pm on Sunday. The 12th class student, who did not know how to swim, used to go to the unauthorised pool to learn swimming.
