Ahead of the next month's Goa Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday unveiled his party's 13-point agenda for the state, which promises free electricity of up to 300 units.

An unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 (Rs 5,000 in some cases) and 80 per cent quota in private sector jobs for locals were among seven assurances given by Arvind Kejriwal today in Goa, where the AAP chief and his party are fighting next year's poll.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday started a campaign against unemployment in Goa and asked people to not vote for parties that have failed to provide jobs.

A youth was arrested in North Goa's Valpoi constituency soon after he questioned Vishwajit Rane, an MLA and the coastal state's Health Minister, about unemployment.

Goa BJP Lawmaker Michael Lobo has criticised his own party's government, saying people are "very disturbed" with the lack of job opportunities for the youth of the state. In a letter to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the deputy speaker of the assembly claimed frustrated job seekers are migrating to other parts of the country.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis today released the BJP manifesto for the Goa Assembly elections. He promised that it will make the state "unemployment free" in five years if voted to power again.
