The Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to list next week for hearing a plea of the Unnao rape survivor seeking transfer of a criminal case filed by the father of one of the accused in her sexual assault case from a trial court in Uttar Pradesh to Delhi.

The Juvenile found the girl while she was playing in a field closed to her house. On seeing her, the accused allegedly tried to rape her.

A day after a rape victim was set on fire by five men, including her two alleged rapists, in the district, a man tried to sexually assault a three-year-old girl in the Makhi police station area on Friday, said police.

The Unnao rape survivor was allegedly kidnapped and raped for nine days at different places by three people in 2017 when she was a minor, the CBI told a Delhi court on Friday. The case is different from the alleged sexual assault on her by expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in 2017.

Linking the BJP to a road accident involving the Unnao rape survivor's car, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said on Monday that the government's "Beti Bachao" slogan was a "grim warning in this context" as the sexual assault case was against a ruling party lawmaker.

The trials in the gruesome Kathua rape and murder case begin today against eight accused who allegedly held an 8-year-old girl in captivity in a small village temple in Kathua district for a week in January this year during which she was kept sedated and sexually assaulted before being bludgeoned to death.
