With negotiations on expanding and reforming the UN Security Council (UNSC) entering a crucial phase next year, India's Permanent Representative Asoke Kumar Mukerji suggested Friday that an international campaign should be launched to mobilise support for it from the Indian diaspora, civil society organisations and businesses around the world.

The US has acknowledged that it has disagreement with India over the process of UN Security Council reforms, but said it is committed to India's inclusion as a permanent member of the powerful wing of the world body.
