Union minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said it has not been found feasible to consider any change in the existing provisions regarding number of attempts and age-limit in respect of the civil services examination.

The UPSC granted the option to candidates, who had chosen Imphal as the exam centre, to change and appear in Aizawl, Delhi, Dispur, Jorhat, Kohima, Kolkata and Shillong centres, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

The option to change examination centre of UPSC CSE applicants will be available in two phases -- from July 7 to 13, and from July 20 to 24 -- on the commission's official website, 'upsconline.nic.in'.

The Centre is planing to change the scheme of the UPSC test for recruitment of entry-level paramilitary forces' officers and merging it with the civil services examination.

The Civil Services preliminary examination, which were mired in controversy after students held widespread protests demanding a change in its pattern, is being held today at various centres across the country.
