The Railways on Thursday said it will now enable the facility to book unreserved tickets through its UTS on Mobile app to decongest booking counters and to ensure smooth compliance of social distancing norms.

Indian Railways UTS On Mobile App: To avoid any inconvenience to passengers in booking unreserved tickets and to ensure safety amid the pandemic, the UTS facility will be available on suburban sections

As of now railway has already implemented the scheme in 15 of its zones with the Northereast Frontier Railway and West Central Railway being the remaining two zones.

Users will need to download the latest version of UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile ticket app.
