Lucknow: Whistleblower bureaucrat whisked away from protest site at midnight, taken to psychiatric ward

A provincial civil services officer in Uttar Pradesh, who had launched a hunger strike in Lucknow on Monday, was allegedly whisked away by the police from his dharna site at midnight and taken to the psychiatric ward of a medical college in the city. Doctors there, however, refused to admit him. He was then sent off to his hometown Aligarh.
