Kerala's Congress-led UDF has won the by-election in its stronghold Vengara again, defeating the ruling Left Democratic Front or LDF by more than 23,000 votes. But despite the victory, the margin of victory for KNA Basheer, the candidate of IUML -- the largest ally of UDF in Kerala -- has decreased considerably, by 14,747 votes.
