BJP MLA Ashish Deshmukh has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take steps to carve out a separate Vidarbha state.

Nagpur today recorded the coldest day in nearly five decades with the mercury plunging to 5.1 degrees Celsius, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Nagpur said.

A local NGO has drawn up plans to organise a series of programmes to muster support for proposed hunger strike by youth leader Ashish Deshmukh for a separate Vidarbha from December 6, three days before the winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly commences.
