Three days after the shocking story of sweepers and ward boys treating patients at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh came to light, the state government has finally swung into action. The Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the Babu Banarsi Das District hospital in Bulandshahr has been removed.

24 hours after a sweeper was seen on camera giving a child stitches on his leg, a repeat. This time in eastern Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, Raj Kumar, a cleaner, provides similar attention to a young boy.

A video clip of a sweeper in a green shirt giving a young boy stitches at a Bulandshahr government hospital has shocked many. But apparently, the Health Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Ahmad Hasan, is not among them. The minister merely says too many emergencies at the hospital resulted in attendants doing the job of doctors.
