Wi-fi In Schools

As many as 10,000 lower primary and upper primary government schools in Kerala will start getting 2Mbps Wi-Fi broadband internet powered by BSNL from November 1 - the state's Foundation Day, official said today.

Under the service, Google will roll-out Wi-Fi hot spots in places frequented by a large number of people, such as malls and transit stations.

Similarly, higher secondary school and college students would also be given free access to internet as per the poll promise.

Goa government has received a Rs 22-crore proposal from an IT firm to install wi-fi at schools and colleges across the state, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar told the state Legislative Assembly today.
