Woman Arrested Over Gold Smuggling

A woman trying to smuggle 27 gold bars from Bangladesh was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district. The seized gold bars weigh over 2 kg and are worth nearly Rs 1.29 crore.

Pune Customs officials seized smuggled gold worth over Rs 26 lakh from a woman passenger at Lohegaon International airport and arrested her as well as the receiver.

A Kyrgyz woman and her daughter have been arrested by the customs department for allegedly smuggling into the country over eight kilograms of gold via the Delhi airport.
