Woman Delivers Baby On Floor

The Chhattisgarh High Court has initiated suo moto proceedings after a 25-year-old woman delivered a baby on the floor of a health centre in Surguja district apparently due to absence of doctors and nurses, noting it is a very sorry state of affairs.

A woman was allegedly forced to deliver her child on the floor of the civil hospital in Punjab's Pathankot after she was denied admission to the labour room.

Two women held a bedsheet to cover the woman as she delivered the baby near a heap of garbage at Community Health Centre (CHC) in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district.
