The State government on Monday decided to earmark 50 per cent reservation for women in all urban local bodies in the state. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda. A similar reservation already exists in in zilla, gram and taluk panchayats.
