Yeddyurappa discharged from hospital, sent to jail

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yeddyurappa has been discharged from Victoria Hospital and sent to Central Jail in Bangalore. Last night, after meeting him, a state BJP leader said Mr Yeddyurappa wanted to return to jail as he was "frustrated" with media reports that accused him of feigning illness as a way to avoid prison.

Doctors say BS Yeddyurappa is likely to be discharged from hospital today. He was sent to a hospital just a few hours after he arrived at the Bangalore Central Jail on Saturday. The former Karnataka chief minister had surrendered in the Lokayukta court after he was denied bail in a land denotification case.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who was arrested and sent to jail on Saturday in an alleged land scam, was admitted to a hospital in Bangalore in the early hours today after he complained of "discomfort" in the chest and would be kept under observation for 48 hours.
